Ag, Biofuel Groups Continue Call for Year-Round Sales of Lower-Cost E15

In a letter sent today to congressional leadership, a coalition of more than 70 biofuel groups and agricultural organizations called for the immediate passage of legislation to allow year-round nationwide sales of the American-made E15 fuel blend, containing 15 percent ethanol. Year-round E15 would benefit drivers with savings of 10 to 30 cents per gallon and improve markets for America’s farmers.

Farmer Bridge Assistance (FBA) Program

USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) is providing $11 billion through a one-time bridge payment to American farmers with an additional $1 billion available for additional commodities. This assistance provides producers with a bridge until the benefits of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) are available. These bridge payments are authorized under the Commodity Credit Corporation Charter Act.

Lawmakers Eye More Farm Aid on Top of USDA Bridge Assistance

Agriculture Committee leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives are looking to provide at least an additional $10 billion in farmer aid to supplement the recently announced Farmer Bridge Assistance (FBA) program. That additional aid would likely have to be driven by Congress, as a USDA undersecretary says it’s unlikely the agency will provide a second farmer aid package.
