Wheat, Oat, Cover Crop Field Day Set For April 20
The LSU AgCenter will hold its annual wheat, oat and cover crop field day April 20 at the Tom H. Scott Research, Extension and Education Center in Winnsboro.
The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon, and lunch will be provided. The Scott Center is located at 212A Macon Ridge Road in Winnsboro.

2022 Louisiana Agriculture in the Classroom Teacher of the Year Haley Broussard will receive more recognition for teaching students about the sources of food, fiber and fuel. The National Agriculture in the Classroom Organization, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture, and Farm Credit selected Broussard to receive a 2023 National Excellence in Teaching About Agriculture Award.

A rare blue crawfish at J.T.’s Seafood has become a fan favorite.
“It’s pretty rare - one in about every ten thousand crawfish come out with a blue hue,” J.T.’s Seafood co-owner Ashley Soileau said.
Soileau said he’s seen a few blue crawfish in his day, but this time he decided to share his discovery with the world.
