FFA Officers Prepare for the School Year at Area Officer Training

For its entire history, FFA has been a student-led organization. That tradition continued during the Area Officer Training (AOT) held at Camp Grant Walker this weekend. The Louisiana FFA State Officer team conducted four training workshops for 31 Area Officers covering topics on leadership, team dynamics, agricultural advocacy, and facilitation skills. The Area Officers serve on teams representing each of Louisiana FFA’s four areas in north, central, southwest, and southeast Louisiana.

Louisiana FFA Hosts Career and Tradeshow

The Louisiana FFA is pleased to announce the grand opening of its much-awaited state convention expo. The Career and Tradeshow is presented by U.S. Army ROTC and opens on June 5th at 11:00 am at the Randolph Riverfront Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. Exhibitions include colleges, trade schools, and industry representatives. Special guests include viral content creators of the ag industry including Farm Stuff with Darrell, Tratter Co., Wandering Maverick Boutique, and more.

Louisiana FFA Hosts 2023 Capitol Day

The Louisiana FFA 2023 Capitol Day, presented by iCEV, will be held on May 4th, 2023. The event will welcome over 200 FFA members, supporters, and guests to the Louisiana State Capitol to advocate for agricultural education and learn more about the legislative process.

FFA State Leadership Development Events Held in Alexandria

FFA members from across Louisiana gathered at the Central Louisiana Technical Community College in Alexandria for the annual State Leadership Development Events (LDEs). These events focus on student leadership development. The benefits received from participating in an LDE include public speaking skills, communication strategies, leadership growth, confidence, memorization skills, and teaching strategies. To qualify for the state events, students placed in the top two of each of four area events held earlier in the month.
