Louisiana Weekly Climate Summary - November 26 – December 2, 2025
By Jay Grymes
Louisiana State Climatologist
Rain fell across the Bayou State in multiple rounds from Nov 29 into Dec 2 in association with two frontal passages and low pressure tracking across the northern Gulf.
The heaviest rains were reported across northwestern and southwestern Louisiana with lighter amounts (below the 7-day normal) across southeastern Louisiana.
In significant contrast to the two prior 7-day periods, average temperatures were below the 7-day normal as a cool and dry air mass swept over the Bayou State following a frontal passage on Nov 26; a second cold front on Dec 1 provided a reinforcing shot of cooler air.
Pockets of light freezes were reported around the state on the early morning of Nov 28.
