September 28 Louisiana Crop Report

According to USDA, as of last Sunday, 96 percent of the Louisiana soybean crop was coloring, 93 percent dropping leaves, 88 percent mature and 78 percent has now been harvested. The bean crop is reported at two percent excellent, 20 percent fair and 78 percent good.

All of the states corn crop is now out of the ground, same as this time last year.

98 percent of the rice crop had been harvested as of last Sunday, same as this time last year.

The sugarcane crop is no rated 13 percent excellent, 17 percent fair, 68 percent good and two percent poor.

95 percent of the cotton crop now has open bolls and 31 percent has been harvested. That crop is rated one percent excellent, 45 percent fair and 54 percent good. Last year at this same time, cotton in Louisiana was rated five precent excellent, 22 percent fair, 72 percent good and one percent poor.
