From the Desk of Craig McCain

Louisiana FSA State Executive Director
Hey there, it’s me again! It is hard to believe that we are past Labor Day and rolling headfirst into Fall. Speaking of Fall, we were blessed with some nice weather during
Well, it seems that Fall has arrived again! While we had a few days of unseasonably cooler weather during late August, summer came back for what we hope is one last round. However, as I write this, a slight North wind is blowing, and midday temperatures are very pleasant. While temperatures have moderated, the state is generally below normal in rainfall, with little chance of rainfall in the foreseeable forecast. So, it appears that harvest will continue to have good weather in the near future.
FSA County Offices across the state are busy processing Supplemental Disaster Relief Program Stage 1 applications for 2023 and 2024 indemnified crop losses, along with Emergency Livestock Relief Program Wildfire and Flood applications for livestock producers; and making an additional payment or “top up” to Emergency Commodity Assistance Program payments for producers who were previously approved.
In addition, recognizing the challenges you currently face, FSA Farm Loan personnel are working to complete pending work and where needed assisting our guaranteed lending partners in preparation for a challenging loan season.
Please be assured that we recognize the challenges you face, and we are committed to doing everything we can to assist you. Thank you for all that you do to feed and clothe the World.
