Lee Returns to LSU AgCenter
Dr. Matt Lee
Dear Colleagues and LSU Ag Supporters,
After nearly six months serving as LSU Interim President, I am pleased to share that I will be returning to my roles with the LSU AgCenter and College of Agriculture. Serving in the interim presidency has been a tremendous honor and an invaluable experience, but I am truly excited to return to leading LSU Agriculture and continuing the important work we’ve started together.
In the coming days, I’ll work closely with Dr. Salassi and our senior leadership team to ensure a seamless transition. I want to express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Salassi and the entire executive team for their outstanding leadership during my absence. The VP/Dean role is complex and demanding, and Dr. Salassi carried it out with excellence. Please join me in thanking him and his wife, Brenda, for their remarkable service and commitment.
I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome our new LSU President, Dr. Wade Rousse, and our new System Executive Vice President and Flagship Chancellor, Dr. James Dalton. They bring exceptional experience and fresh perspectives to LSU, and I’ve pledged my full support, both personally and on behalf of our statewide agricultural enterprise, to help ensure their success as they lead LSU into its next era.
As you know, I often say, We Win As a Team. Together with Drs. Rousse and Dalton, we will continue driving forward the goals outlined in our strategic plan and building on the momentum we’ve created!
We will provide updates as the transition progresses. In the meantime, Mimi and I are eager to reconnect with our Ag family and deeply appreciate the encouragement you’ve shown over the past six months.
Thank you for all you do. I look forward to seeing you soon!
Sincerely,
Matt
