A 'Dent' In Louisiana's Developing Drought?
By Jay Grymes

The latest NWS forecast calls for a storm system to move through the Lower Mississippi Valley this weekend ... and unlike some of our recent frontal passages, this one looks to deliver significant rains across most of the Bayou State.
While no one looks forward to a weekend washout ... the hope from a drought standpoint is that the weekend rains are reasonably well-distributed over the course of 48-60 hours, so that soil infiltration is maximized and runoff is minimized.
These rains may be sufficient for many/most parishes currently under Burn Bans to rescind the order. well-distributed rains should also provide some relief to areas dealing with droughty conditions.
