Apple snails, an invasive pest from South America, are considered to be a plague on Louisiana waterbodies. The snails are a major problem for crawfish farmers, and in extreme cases, have caused farmers to abandon their ponds. LSU AgCenter reporter Craig Gautreaux has the story from southwest Louisiana.
