Following a two-year absence because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the LSU AgCenter and the Meraux Foundation are once again hosting AgMagic on the River.

This educational event is held at Docville Farm, 5124 East Saint Bernard Highway in Violet, about 20 minutes from downtown New Orleans.

Lauren Faust, an AgCenter 4-H agent in St. Bernard Parish, said the event will be open to school groups March 16 to 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be open to the public on Saturday, March 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Teachers can sign up their classes at https://bit.ly/3r7qqn9.

“We have missed hosting AgMagic the last two years,” Faust said. “We hope to make this year as successful as past years.”

COVID-19 protocols will be in effect to make sure students are able to maintain social distancing and are not in large groups.

Faust said to have a successful event, she needs volunteers to assist with presenting information to students at the different stations throughout AgMagic.

For more information or to volunteer, contact Faust at lfaust@agcenter.lsu.edu.

The LSU AgCenter also produces AgMagic educational events in Baton Rouge and Shreveport.
