The United Soybean Board for the first time in over a year has finished its July meeting with all the board members present in person.
Illinois farmer Dan Farney, USB Chairman, says they got a lot of work done.
“The major things we do at the July meeting is always prepare our portfolio of work for the coming fiscal year, which will start October first,” says Farney.
“We came up with about 70-million dollars worth of different investments over 180-plus different projects, so we have our program of work lined up for next year.
“We have basically three different active teams, supply, marketplace and demand. Supply, for example, will fall into production type research nd things like that over (soy)meal, oil and sustainability. It’s kinda like nine different buckets everything has to fit into.”
