LSU AgCenter Livestock Show Update
Updated show information from State Livestock Show Leader Dwayne Nunez:
Well mother nature has thrown us a curve ball with the weather this week. We have met with administration and we are going to make some changes that I need your help getting to all exhibiters. We have postponed the MINI BEEF CATTLE, DIARY GOAT SHOW, and EXHIBITION POULTRY SHOW to a later date. We will reschedule these for end of March or April TBD. We already have our Meat Goat judge on the grounds and feel that we can get the meat goats in on Sunday safely to be judged as scheduled. We will re-evaluate on Wednesday as the weather progresses to make any further decision.
The Broiler Show will be pushed back to Friday, February 19 and Saturday, February 20. I will send an updated schedule by this Monday after confirming travel plans with the Judge.
Updates on premier exhibitor contest that these changes will effect will be forward in the coming days.
BEEF CATTLE SHOWS: We are moving all Beef cattle shows back to the end of week 17TH-20TH. We have rescheduled steer, Com Heifer, Brahman shows for later this week. Our judge for these divisions has been rescheduled for Thursday the 18th and Saturday the 20th. We will be sending out a revised schedule later today. I just wanted this to get out to stop them from getting on the road if they haven’t already done so.
Please understand that these changes are due to the weather conditions and travel safety issues. Keeping our exhibitors and families safe is top priority. Email me if you have specific questions or concerns. Please help get this to any that are getting ready to make the trip to Gonzales.
