Several AgCenter Personnel Take Over Levy's Duties
By Don Molino, The Voice of Louisiana Agriculture Radio Network
After almost ten years as the Louisiana Soybean Specialist, Dr. Ronny Levy has now retired, finishing a long career with the LSU AgCenter.
Dr. Boyd Padgett, Director of the Dean Lee Research Station just south of Alexandria, says several people are taking over Levy's duties temporarily.
"We also have a varietytesting program that's been going on for years and most people are very familiar with our crop variety testing program in various crops," said Padgett. "We have station coordinators, we have station agronomists and they have agreed to cover the particular soybean variety tests at their locations and I will be overseeing the operation here at Dean Lee."
Dr. Dan Fromme, state corn and cotton specialist, has agreed to take on Levy's newsletter and getting the articles out "in a timely manner to our clients. So probably not as good as what Ronnie was doing but we're going to try and work through this and we're going to address the needs of our stakeholders as we have in the past," according to Padgett.
