AFBF Releases Report Analyzing US Ag Trade In 2022

2022 was a record year for U.S. agricultural trade, topping $196 billion. Despite an 11% increase from 2021, it wasn't all good news for America's farmers and ranchers. While export values increased, overall export volume decreased by 6%. Imports of agricultural goods also increased by $28 billion, creating a trade deficit for 2022. American Farm Bureau Federation economists analyzed the trade numbers in their latest Market Intel report.

A couple weeks ago, AFBF filed a new lawsuit challenging EPA’s latest WOTUS rule—joined by more than a dozen other organizations representing agriculture, infrastructure, manufacturing and housing. Vermilion Parish Corgi Wins People’s Choice Pup at American Farm Bureau Convention

It was the best Case scenario for one Louisiana farm dog at the American Farm Bureau Annual Convention.

Case, a four-year-old corgi from Vermilion Parish, is winner of the AFBF People’s Choice Pup social media contest. Case belongs to Louisiana Farm Bureau members Kelsi and Amanda Duhon who entered their pet in the 2023 AFBF Dog of the Year contest.

Farm Bureau National Program Committees Welcome New Members

Many Americans prioritize sharing their time, talents and expertise in local communities, with about one in four volunteering each year, according to surveys. This includes Farm Bureau farmer and rancher leaders, who serve on governing boards and committees at local, state and national levels.

Several newly appointed volunteers will provide leadership beginning in 2023 as farmer and rancher members of the American Farm Bureau Federation’s Promotion & Education and Young Farmers & Ranchers committees.
