The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry would like to clarify questions regarding the expiration date of Section 18 Crisis Exemption 26LA04 for selected imidacloprid products.

Although the exemption listed an expiration date of July 21, 2026, that date only reflected the EPA's 15-day deadline for Louisiana to submit a request for a Section 18 Quarantine Exemption.

The Quarantine Exemption request has been submitted to the EPA, and the EPA has acknowledged receipt of the request. As a result, the Crisis Exemption remains in effect while the EPA reviews the Quarantine Exemption request.

Selected imidacloprid products may continue to be used under the terms of the current exemption until the EPA issues a final decision to approve or deny the Section 18 Quarantine Exemption.

We will provide additional updates as soon as the EPA makes its decision.
