Purina Livestock Scholarships Worth $30K Open March 18
Students with hands-on experience raising livestock, poultry, or equine will have an opportunity to earn financial support for college through the Purina Animal Nutrition Scholarship starting March 18, a program established by Land O’Lakes, Inc. to support the next generation of agricultural leaders.
The scholarship program awards up to 10 students each year with $3,000 scholarships to help cover undergraduate education expenses at accredited two-year or four-year colleges, universities, or vocational-technical schools in the United States.
The scholarship is designed specifically for students who have gained experience showing or caring for livestock animals, equine, or poultry, and who plan to pursue higher education.
Eligible applicants include:
High school seniors
High school graduates
Current undergraduate college students
Applicants must reside and study in the United States and plan to enroll full-time in an undergraduate program during the upcoming academic year.
Experience with livestock or poultry is a key requirement. The scholarship focuses on students who have been involved with animals beyond household pets, recognizing the educational value of hands-on agricultural experience.
Recipients are selected based on a variety of criteria that highlight both academic achievement and agricultural involvement.

Personal or family circumstances

Applicants must also submit a short essay addressing the prompt: “Describe the impact nourishing and raising animals (excluding house pets) has had on your life.”
Financial need is not considered in the selection process.
To apply, students must submit several materials electronically, including a current transcript showing grades, courses, and credit hours, one online recommendation form, and ahort essay of 1,000 characters or less.
Applicants must ensure all materials are submitted by the application deadline for their submission to be considered complete. Scholarship recipients are typically notified in June, and payments are distributed in August.
