The 10th annual Pardoning of the Crawfish took place in Opelousas on Tuesday, with Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser pardoning one lucky crustacean from Louisiana's famous crawfish boils.
The event began in 2017 and is held on the first Tuesday after Mardi Gras every year. It commemorates the beginning of crawfish season in Louisiana and across the Gulf South.
