La. Farmers React to Supreme Court’s Decision to Strike Down Sweeping Tariffs

LAKE CHARLES, La. - Louisiana farmers and agricultural leaders are responding to the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down President Trump’s sweeping tariffs, saying the ruling leaves an already volatile industry with more uncertainty.

Brandon Vail, a fifth-generation rice farmer in Calcasieu Parish, said the tariffs were necessary for domestic producers to remain competitive.
