Higgins Encourages Louisiana Farmers to Utilize Trump USDA's New Harvest Fuel Relief Program

Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) today launched a new webpage to help Louisiana farmers prepare for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s new $8 billion Harvest Fuel Relief Program. Announced by President Trump and Secretary Rollins earlier this week, the program will provide one-time payments to farmers facing high fuel costs and market disruptions this harvest season. Congressman Higgins commended the Administration’s action and encouraged eligible constituents to take steps now to be ready when applications open.

"Louisiana's agriculture industry has endured unfair trade conditions, market turmoil, and rising diesel costs," said Congressman Higgins. "The House passed Reconciliation 3.0 with a framework for up to $12 billion for American farmers, but the elitist Senate failed to act. President Trump and Secretary Rollins stepped up and delivered this new relief program. I encourage Louisiana farmers to prepare now, and as application details emerge, my office will update our website and be in close communication with the state's agricultural community."
