Louisiana Sugarcane Industry Recovers After Past Challenges

ST. MARTIN PARISH, La. — Louisiana’s sugarcane industry is celebrating a strong season with record sugar production after previous droughts impacted yields.

The mill in St. Martin Parish surpassed its target of 470 million pounds of sugar by the end of the season on Dec. 27.
