Amelia Kent Named 2025 Cattlewoman of the Year

We are very pleased to introduce our 2025 Cattlewoman of the Year, Amelia Kent!

Amelia Kent is a fourth-generation farmer who started her own farm immediately after graduating from Wellesley College. Amelia, her husband, Russell, and their daughter Avery, raise cattle through Kent Farms LLC, located in Clinton, Louisiana. Their diversified cattle operation includes a cow herd, replacement heifers, as well as backgrounding and grazing stocker cattle, and directly marketing beef to household consumers.

Amelia has received immense leadership training through programs like the LSU Agriculture Leadership Program, AFBF’s Partners in Advocacy Leadership, as well as through numerous leadership positions with Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation, the Cattlemen’s Beef Board, Capital Area Groundwater Commission, and the Louisiana Beef Industry Council.

In June 2024, Amelia was elected as the 3rd Vice President of the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation. Additionally, she currently chairs her Land O’Lakes Regional Executive Council and the Land O’Lakes Policies and Resolutions Committee. In 2023, as a Farmer Envoy to Solutions from the Land, Amelia served as a panelist at the International Agri-Food Network’s Climate, Science, and Innovation Event in Rome, Italy. Amelia welcomes any opportunity to be an advocate for agriculture.

Please help us in congratulating Amelia Kent in her outstanding commitment to the cattle industry as our 2025 LA Cattle Festival Cattlewoman of the Year!
