Five 2025 Louisiana high school graduates are pursuing careers in agriculture with the help of the Louisiana Farm Bureau Foundation Linda and Wayne Zaunbrecher Scholarships.

The Linda and Wayne Zaunbrecher Scholarship awards up to $3,000 per academic year to five high school graduates pursuing degrees in agriculture. Students who maintain academic and curriculum eligibility may continue their scholarship for a total of four consecutive years. Applicants or their parents must be Louisiana Farm Bureau members.

The 2025 scholarship recipients are Charli Boudreaux, Owen Kelly, Andie Markway, Sydney Phelps and Hannah Timmons.

Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, ACT scores, individual leadership in their high school and community, participation in selected parish and state Farm Bureau activities, and financial need.

Charli Boudreaux of Assumption Parish will attend Louisiana State University to major in animal science with a minor in agribusiness. She plans to establish her own veterinary clinic and expand her family's ranching operation.

Owen Kelly of East Carroll Parish plans to major in agricultural business and minor in communications at Louisiana Tech University. His goal is to have a career that combines his passion for agriculture with business management and communication skills.

Andie Markway of Allen Parish will attend Louisiana State University and major in agricultural business. She has a love for cattle and wants to become an accountant or financial manager for a cattle operation.

Lafourche Parish Farm Bureau nominated Sydney Phelps. She will attend Louisiana State University to major as a pre-veterinarian with a minor in animal science. Her dream is to become a large and small animal veterinarian, return to her home parish and establish her own practice.

Hannah Timmons of St. Helena Parish will attend McNeese State University to major in agricultural business and minor in animal science. She hopes to spread awareness about the importance of agriculture while educating people about proper production in both plants and animals.
