Louisiana Farm Bureau Supports Appointment of Craig McCain as FSA Director
Louisiana Farm Bureau President Richard Fontenot issued the following statement in response to the appointment of Craig McCain as State Executive Director for the Louisiana Farm Service Agency (FSA).
“The appointment of Craig McCain to lead the FSA in Louisiana could not come at a more impactful time,” said Louisiana Farm Bureau President Richard Fontenot. “McCain’s 34 years of experience and understanding of farm programs means he knows how to cut through the red tape and get Louisiana’s farmers and ranchers what they need in a timely fashion. His knowledge is critical at this time when agriculture is facing low commodity prices and high input costs without the safety net from an updated Farm Bill. Thank you, Secretary Brooke Rollins, for putting the right man in the right place to ensure Louisiana agriculture has a bright future.
“I am also thankful to Louisiana’s congressional delegation who pushed for McCain’s appointment. I truly believe this would not have happened without their support. Our members of Congress received letters from Louisiana Farm Bureau and other agricultural groups requesting McCain’s return to lead the FSA. It’s obvious they heard us loud and clear.”
