The American Sugar Cane League is pleased to announce the appointment of Jamison Cruce as an additional Washington Representative, effective June 2025.
Cruce will join the League from the USA Rice Federation, where he currently serves as Vice President of Government Affairs. He brings with him more than a decade of experience in agricultural advocacy and trade association operations. His prior roles at the American Farm Bureau Federation and the Georgia Peanut Commission have equipped him with a broad perspective on commodity issues and program development, making him a strong addition to the League.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jamison Cruce to the American Sugar Cane League as an addition to our representation in Washington,” said Jim Simon, General Manager of the American Sugar Cane League. “Jamison brings a wealth of experience that will serve him well as he advocates for Louisiana’s sugarcane farmers and millers and the 17,000 jobs that our industry supports. We look forward to his addition to our team and the fresh perspectives and new energy he brings. His deep understanding of agricultural policy, including his prior work with many of Louisiana’s agricultural leaders, makes him an ideal fit to represent our industry.”
The League’s Vice President of Government Relations, Jack Pettus, will work with Jamison to harness his talents and skills to advocate for Louisiana’s sugarcane growers and processors, and to help guide the American Sugar Alliance efforts to maintain and improve upon the safety net for America’s sugar farmers.
“For nearly a quarter of a century, I’ve been honored to represent Louisiana’s sugarcane growers. It’s been a deeply rewarding journey, and it is a privilege to help usher in the next chapter for the League with Jamison Cruce. Jamison and I have worked together as a part of the farm coalition in the past and I believe his expertise in agricultural advocacy and his knack for building relationships in Washington will serve our industry well,” said Pettus.
Pettus will continue his relationship with the League well into the future.
Cruce, who holds a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University Shreveport and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Georgia, brings a nuanced understanding of Louisiana’s agricultural landscape and its congressional delegation. Cruce, his wife, Elise, and his son, Walker, reside in Alexandria, VA.
