Letlow Statement on Farm Aid Announced by President Trump

Congresswoman Julia Letlow released the following statement on President Trump’s announcement of $12 billion in support for farmers affected by recent economic and trade disruptions. Letlow introduced legislation in June that would equip the Trump Administration to support farmers suffering from trade-related losses. 

“While President Trump works to negotiate better trade deals for rural America, this support will be music to the ears of our Louisiana farmers. As we continue collecting significant tariff revenue from foreign countries, it makes sense to use these funds to support the producers at the heart of our nation’s food supply. With planting season right around the corner, this aid will be a crucial bridge for our farmers to a future with more market access and less cheating by our trading partners.”
