Louisiana at the Top of National List for Grocery Cost Burden

SHREVEPORT, La. - Louisiana ranks highest in the nation for grocery cost burden, according to a new report from Consumer Affairs, a non-government research organization.

The group found that food prices have increased by about three percent nationwide. While Louisiana residents are not necessarily paying more than consumers in other states, the impact is greater because of lower household incomes.
