American Sugar Cane League, American Society Of Sugar Cane Technologists Meetings Feb 6-7
American Sugar Cane League
Be sure to mark February 6-7 on your 2024 calendar. Those are the dates of the annual meeting of the American Sugar Cane League. The League, founded in 1922, depends on the continued support of the sugarcane industry’s growers, millers and landowner members and we’d like everyone to be there.
The event is held at L’Auberge Casino and Hotel in Baton Rouge, and we’ll be sharing the stage with the Louisiana division of the American Society of Sugarcane Technologists (ASSCT).
The League’s keynote speaker is Robert Johansson, the director of economics and policy analysis at the American Sugar Alliance. Dr. Johansson studies and provides domestic and international sugar market analysis at the highest levels and evaluates the farm/trade policies that affect U.S. sugar producers like you. His list of credentials and experience is long. He served as the chief economist at the USDA and advised the Secretary of Agriculture. He also directed commodity analysis and managed the designs of various USDA programs.
The ASSCT program will also feature the latest scientific research on all the phases of sugar production. In addition, there is a trade show and you’re sure to make some good business connections when you attend.
