SU Ag Center’s Morehouse Parish Farm Field Day set for July 21, 2023

WHO:                                    

The Southern University Ag Center in conjunction with the LSU AgCenter, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Morehouse Black Farmers and Landowners Association, Inc., and the National Black Growers Council.

WHAT:                               

The 21st Annual Morehouse Farm Field Day is free and open to the public.

The field day will include presentations on the importance of wills, USDA updates, and information on loans available through the USDA’s Farm Service Agency, as well as information on the new seed technology, herbicides, and new productions.

WHEN:                                 

Friday, July 20, 2023, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

WHERE:                              

8740 Grabault Road, Bastrop, LA 71220 (Antwain Downs Farm)

WHAT TO EXPECT:         

Youth and adults participating in a farm tour, drone demonstrations, and receiving information from representatives from the Southern University and LSU Ag Centers, USDA, and commercial farming companies.
