The LSU AgCenter will hold a field day July 12 to highlight research on best management practices for cotton and grain crops.
The event will be at Somerset Plantation in Tensas Parish, which serves as one of two model farms where scientists are testing practices aimed at improving sustainability. The work is funded by a $1.4 million grant from the Patrick F. Taylor Foundation.
Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by opening comments at 9 a.m. from several officials with the AgCenter, Taylor Foundation and government agencies.
