US Drought Expands To Largest Area Since 2012

The U.S. Drought Monitor released Thursday contained more bad news for ranchers and all of agriculture. More than 61% of the contiguous U.S. is in some classification of drought. That's the largest percentage of drought classification since 2012, the year when the continental US saw an all-time record of 65% during September.
The ongoing drought has increased significantly in recent weeks.
