Growing the Future of Agriculture through Give FFA Day
Individuals across the country can make a difference in the lives of the more than 735,000 FFA members by participating in Give FFA Day.
For the seventh year, during National FFA Week, individuals will have an opportunity to step up and support Louisiana FFA and agricultural education through Give FFA Day on Thursday, Feb. 24. Funds raised support various programs on local, state, and national levels. During the 24 hours of giving, donor contributions will be matched to double the impact on a new disaster relief program for local chapters.
For more than 90 years, the National FFA Organization has strived to make a difference in students’ lives. Donations help FFA grow the future generation of leaders and through programming, students can find their path to success.
With a membership of nearly 10,000 within the state and 21 named storms hitting Louisiana in the 2021 hurricane season, the Louisiana FFA Foundation is reaching out to Alumni and the Ag industry to help them reach their goal of $10,000 on one special day. The impact? Live changing experiences for youth who Live to Serve across the 4-area region. “We are Thankful to the foundation for making funds available for programs affected by natural disaster.” Said Regina Smart an FFA Advisor from Westlake whose school and home were impacted by Hurricane Laura. “It’s going to be well utilized in our state for years to come.”
Donors to Louisiana FFA Foundation will make an even larger impact this year thanks to the generous support of an anonymous alumni who has made a matching pledge of up to $3,000. Donors can have their donations matched dollar for dollar by giving on the Give Louisiana FFA Day page.
“Donors at every level ensure we continue to grow the future leaders of agriculture and the world,” said Raquella Manuel, Development Director of the Louisiana FFA Foundation. “Give FFA Day is an opportunity for each FFA supporter to magnify their impact on the lives of young people when they join other donors across the country. Every gift makes a difference.”
