Pesticide Recertification
The LSU AgCenter is conducting a training for those certified pesticide applicators with category 1 and 10, agricultural consultants and RUP Salespersons whose certification will expire before February 2022 must attend one of these recertification conferences. Applicators must attend the entire day of the conference to qualify for recertification. Attendance at this conference will extend your certification for three years - until January or February 2024.
For the 2021 recertification season applicators can plan to attend either in-person or virtually. Virtual recertification is an option for those that do not feel comfortable attending the recertification in-person. This part of the recertification event will be hosted on Microsoft TEAMS. Those that plan to attend the training virtually must have a camera on their device to show that you are participating and will have to complete random quizzes throughout the training to confirm participation. They must also, plan to attend an equipment check one week prior to the recertification event to make sure that they are set up and ready to attend the virtual training.
For in-person training, social distancing and masks will be required. In-person training will be capped at 60 people at this time. This is based on the current state requirements for Covid-19.
The training will begin at 8:00 AM and end at approximately 4:00 PM. Box lunches will be provided to those that attend the training in-person.
Those applicators that wish to become certified will need to plan to attend a virtual pre-certification training in 2021. Please contact the LSU AgCenter PSEP with questions about pre-certification training for those that would like to become a certified applicator.
