Rice Outlook: US Import Forecast Increased 8% To Record High

The largest revision this month to the 2019/20 U.S. rice balance sheet was a 2.4-million cwt increase in the import forecast to a record 32.5 million cwt, up 12 percent from 2018/19. On the use side, the total export forecast was raised 1.0 million cwt to 99.0 million cwt, with long-grain rough-rice accounting for all of the upward revision.
