Louisiana Crop Production Report: December 10, 2020

Louisiana sugarcane production for sugar and seed is forecast at 15.5 million net tons, up 7 percent from the November 1 forecast and up 18 percent from a year ago. The yield is forecast at 32.0 net tons per acre, up 2.2 net tons from last month and up 3.9 net tons from last year. Area harvested for sugar and seed totaled 484,000 acres, up 15,000 acres from 2019.
