Governor Edwards Announces Boards and Commissions Appointments
Tuesday, Gov. John Bel Edwards announced his appointments to several Louisiana boards and commissions, including the reappointment of a Port Allen resident to the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission.
Residential Building Contractors Subcommittee
The Residential Building Contractors Subcommittee serves to protect the general public from incompetent and fraudulent acts of residential contractors while promoting the integrity of the construction industry.
Craig A. Stevens of Prairieville has been appointed to the Residential Building Contractors Subcommittee. Stevens is the president of Genesis 360 and will represent the 6th Congressional District.
Travis J. Manceaux of Lake Charles has been appointed to the Residential Building Contractors Subcommittee. Manceaux is the president of PERC Development and will represent the 3rd Congressional District.
Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-West
The Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-West provides flood protection for the west side of the Mississippi River in Jefferson and Orleans parishes.
Larry B. Ardoin of Folsom has been appointed to the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-West. Ardoin is retired.
Kelsey Foster of New Orleans has been appointed to the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-West. Foster is the executive director of Algiers Economic Development Foundation.
Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission
The Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission has the power and authority to regulate the commerce and traffic within certain boundaries of the State of Louisiana and administer public wharves, docks, sheds, and landings and other structures useful for the commerce of the port area.
Robert M. “Bob” Kelly of Zachary has been reappointed to the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission. Kelly is a maintenance mechanic at ExxonMobil Chemical Company. Kelly will represent the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation and the East Bank.
Travis M. Medine of Port Allen has been reappointed to the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission. Medine is the managing partner of Medine Farms. Medine will represent the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation and will represent the West Bank.
Board of Commissioners of the Lake Charles Harbor and Terminal District
The Port of the Lake Charles Harbor and Terminal District and the Board of Commissioners offer reliable shipping with proven historical performance—and are prepared for future growth. More than $108 billion in industrial projects have been recently completed, are underway or have been announced on and around the Port and the Calcasieu Ship Channel areas.
Judy A. McCleary of Lake Charles has been reappointed to the Board of Commissioners of the Lake Charles Harbor and Terminal District. McCleary will serve as a female member and in Position G.
Davidson J. Darbone of Lake Charles has been reappointed to the Board of Commissioners of the Lake Charles Harbor and Terminal District. Darbone will serve as a minority member and in Position E.
Karl J. Krielow of Roanoke has been reappointed to the Board of Commissioners for the Lake Charles Harbor and Terminal District. Krielow will serve in Position F.
State Licensing Board for Contractors
The purpose of the State Licensing Board of Contractors is the protection of the health, safety, and general welfare of citizens dealing with persons engaged in the contracting vocation, and affording citizens an effective and practical protection against incompetent, inexperienced, unlawful, and fraudulent acts of contractors with whom they contract. The Board also monitors construction projects to ensure compliance with the statutory and regulatory licensure requirements.
Curtis R. Joseph Jr. of Shreveport has been appointed to the State Licensing Board for Contractors. Joseph is an attorney and owner of Winchell and Joseph and will represent the 4th Congressional District. Joseph will serve as an at-large member who does not earn their livelihood in a construction-related industry.
Ronald S. Barron of Farmerville has been appointed to the State Licensing Board for Contractors. Barron is the president of Don M. Barron Contractors and will serve the board as a member with experience in highway and street construction. Barron was nominated by the Louisiana Associated General Contractors and will represent the 5th Congressional District.
Keith A. Tillage of Baton Rouge has been appointed to the State Licensing Board for Contractors. Tillage is the owner of Tillage Construction LLC and will represent the 6th Congressional District.
Calcasieu Ship Channel Public-Private Partnership
The Calcasieu Ship Channel Public-Private Partnership is a management board and advisory committee divided into the Calcasieu Ship Channel Funding Management Board and the Calcasieu Ship Channel Advisory Committee and created to manage monies contributed to the Calcasieu River Fund.
Curtis A. Brescher of Westlake has been appointed to the Calcasieu Ship Channel Advisory Committee. Brescher is the plant manager at Westlake Chemical and will represent a facility on the ship channel in Calcasieu Parish
Jolie A. Rhinehart of Westlake has been appointed to the Calcasieu Ship Channel Advisory Committee. Rhinehart is the general manager of Phillips 66 and will represent a facility on the ship channel in Calcasieu Parish.
Nelson R. Robles Jr. of Hackberry has been appointed to the Calcasieu Ship Channel Advisory Committee. Robles is a marine operations manager at Cameron LNG and will represent a facility on the ship channel in Cameron Parish.
Renee A. Lapeyrolerie of New Orleans will serve on the Calcasieu Ship Channel Funding Management Board. Ms. Lapeyrolerie is the Commissioner of Multimodal Commerce within the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and will serve as designee of the governor.
St. Tammany Levee, Drainage and Conservation District
The mission of the St. Tammany Levee, Drainage and Conservation District is to establish, construct, operate, or maintain flood control works related to hurricane protection, tidewater flooding, saltwater intrusion, and conservation.
Derise C. Morel of Slidell has been appointed to the St. Tammany Levee, Drainage and Conservation District. Morel is retired.
Louisiana Board for Hearing Aid Dealers
The Louisiana Board for Hearing Aid Dealers mission is to provide for examination and licensing of persons who test hearing while engaged in the selling and fitting of hearing aids, to provide for the regulation of and selling and fitting of hearings to the public, and to provide penalties for punishment for violations of Act 1968, No. 302.
Andrea Heard-Rowe of Bossier City has been appointed to the Louisiana Board for Hearing Aid Dealers. Heard-Rowe is a hearing instrument specialist and operations manager Audibel of Shreveport. Heard-Rowe was nominated by the Louisiana Society of Hearing Aid Specialists and will represent the 6th hearing aid dealer district.
