Louisiana Lawmakers to Vote on Labeling Bill for Imported Shrimp, Crawfish

The Louisiana House of Representatives is poised to debate legislation next week that would require restaurants serving imported shrimp and crawfish to inform customers of these foods countries of origin. HB 335, authored by Rep. Jerry Gisclair, D-Larose, unanimously passed the lower house’s Committee on Health and Welfare last month, setting the bill up for a scheduled debate on Tuesday and a possible floor vote.
