Louisiana Milk Production Up 28 Percent from Previous Quarter

Louisiana milk production during the January - March 2019 quarter was 41.0 million pounds, down 11 percent from the same period in 2018 but up 28 percent from the October - December quarter. The average number of milk cows on farms during the quarter was 11,000 head, 1,000 head lower than the same period last year but unchanged from the previous quarter.
