Law Enforcement Seizes 18 Horses From Louisiana Feed Lot, Investigation Ongoing

Authorities with the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office and Louisiana Department of Agriculture have seized 18 horses after executing a search warrant at an address in Pitkin, La. A statement from the sheriff's office on Facebook explained the offices had received “numerous” complaints of animal neglect against the Thompson Horse Lot, long known for its Facebook-based operation offering followers an opportunity to purchase horses or “bail” animals the lot claimed were at risk for being sent to slaughter.
