Severance Taxes From Timber Down in 2018
Severance taxes collected from timber harvested in 2018 were down more than 8 percent compared to the year before, according to a report released this week by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry. Taxes collected from timber severed last year totaled more than $13.9 million, according to the report. The top three parishes were Sabine at $962,925, Winn at $935,706 and Beauregard at $917, 059.
