Louisiana Milk Production Down 27 Percent from Previous Quarter

Louisiana milk production during the July - September 2019 quarter was 27.0 million pounds, down 13 percent from the same period in 2018 and down 27 percent from the April - June quarter. The average number of milk cows on farms during the quarter was 10,000 head, 1,000 head lower than the same period last year and 500 head lower than the previous quarter.
