Cattle Industry Convention & NCBA Trade Show Underway in New Orleans
Louisiana is the center of the nation’s cattle industry this week as cattlemen and industry representatives from across the country converge on New Orleans for the Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade Show.
“We’re coming to New Orleans and we’re going to have a wonderful meeting and a big time,” said Jennifer Houston, president-elect of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.”
The convention will bring together several sectors of the cattle industry, including the American National Cattlewomen, the Cattlemen’s Beef Board and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.
One highlight of the convention is the NCBA Trade Show. “We’ll have acres of trade show under that roof,” said Houston, referring to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. “I hope all the Louisiana cattlemen will drive in for the day. It’s absolutely mind-boggling.”
Louisiana native and four-time Super Bowl winning quarterback Terry Bradshaw will kick off the convention with an address during the opening session on Wednesday. Bradshaw owned a cattle ranch in DeSoto Parish in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s while he was playing for the Pittsburg Steelers.
