Digital Ag Data Conference Set for Alexandria January 29th

The LSU AgCenter will host a conference highlighting the management of digital data in agriculture.  The theme of the conference will be “Maximizing the Investment from Precision Ag” focusing on issues that arise with the tremendous amount of data collected during the production season.  It will be held Jan. 29, 2019 at the Evacuation Center on the Dean Lee Research Station in Alexandria, LA beginning with registration at 9 am and ending at 3 that afternoon with a trade fair of vendors that manage precision ag data. 

There will be several speakers from the LSU AgCenter discussing the collection, interpretation and implementation of the data gathered by producers.  Dr. Michael Deliberto, AgCenter Economist will discuss the costs associated with digital data for producers. Dr. Terry Griffin, a nationally recognized precision ag economist, will deliver a keynote address on the value of “Big Data” in agriculture and on producers’ farms.

After lunch, a panel of Louisiana farmers will relate and answer questions about how they use digital data in their operations.  There will be time allotted at the conclusion of the conference for producers and vendors to interact and discuss their digital agricultural needs.
