Temporary Foreign Labor & Sugar in Louisiana

Louisiana’s sugarcane growers and sugar processors use temporary foreign labor, mostly from Mexico, when they are unable to fill positions with U.S. citizens. These workers represent one part of a global network of millions of men and women from lower-income nations seeking temporary work in higher-income nations.
