LSU AgCenter Rice Research Station Field Day Marks Over 100 Years

Dr. Don Groth, Resident Coordinator of the rice research station at Crowley welcomed some 200 attendees to the 109th annual Rice Field Day at the H. Rouse Caffey Research Station Wednesday.

Rice producer Jackie Loewer, Jr., Chairman of the Louisiana Rice Research Board, told the crowd the board is working toward endowing $1,000,000 to the LSU Foundation as soon as all the details are worked out.  Loewer also presented Dr. Bill Richardson--Vice-President for Agriculture at the LSU AgCenter with a check for $1.2 million dollars representing the first six months of rice research funds.
