Louisiana Cattlemen Invited to LBIC Meeting Friday

All Louisiana cattlemen are invited to attend the Louisiana Beef Industry Council's meeting Friday, July 21st at the DeWitt Livestock Facility on the LSU-Alexandria campus.  The meeting starts at 9:00 am.  The council invites all interested cattlemen to attend and voice their input on how their beef checkoff dollars are invested.

The Louisiana Beef Industry Council is responsible for investing the state's portion of the $1.00 per head national beef checkoff.  Half of the checkoff goes to the Cattlemen's Beef Board for national beef promotion, while the other 50 cents goes to the LBIC for in-state promotion.

The LBIC was formed by the state legislature and consists of representatives from the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation, Cattle Producers of Louisiana, Louisiana members of the Livestock Marketing Association and the Louisiana Cattlemen's Association.
