Louisiana Milk Production Up 31 Percent from Previous Quarter

Louisiana milk production during the January - March 2017 quarter was 46 million pounds, down 13 percent from the same period in 2016 but up 31 percent from the October - December 2016 quarter. The average number of milk cows on farms during the quarter was 12,000 head, 1,000 head fewer than the same period last year but unchanged from the previous quarter.
