2017 Oat and Wheat Field Day

This year’s wheat and oat field day begins at 8:30, Wednesday, April 19th with registration at the LSU AgCenter Macon Ridge Research Station in Winnsboro. 

Indoor presentations will include Italian ryegrass control in wheat and burndown applications and control issues with clethodim, insect management in wheat and prescribed burn program training and recertification update.

Field tour activities are slated for Fusarium Head Blight variety and fungicide screening, wheat disease and production update, crop production and soil health under cover crops and wheat and oat variety trials.

A sponsored lunch will be provided. 

The program meets the requirements for Phase Ii completion and Continuing Education credits within the Louisiana Master Farmer Program.
