Soybean Producers Work Closely with LSU AgCenter
By Don Molino, Voice of Louisiana Agriculture Radio Network
The LSU AgCenter and the Louisiana Soybean and Grain Research and Promotion Board work hand-in-hand on a joint venture…making life better for Louisiana grain farmers.
And no one knows that better than Dr. Rogers Leonard, LSU AgCenter Associate Vice-President and Program Leader for Plants, Soils and Agriculture Water Resources.
“The LSU AgCenter expresses their appreciation to the Louisiana soybean and feed grains farmers across the entire state for their willingness to continue supporting research and extension projects through their own check-off dollars,” said Leonard.
“Those dollars are used to support both short term research, which will increase profits at the farm gate level, as well as reduce input costs. Some of their funding goes to much longer term projects looking for pest resistance in varieties and production practices which will go a long way toward improving farm income,” according to Leonard.
