Louisiana Rice: Higher Blackbird Pressure to the North This Year. Why?

I received a lot of conflicting reports about blackbirds over the last couple of weeks. Many consultants reported to me that in the area south of I-10, the number of blackbirds seems to be lower than normal. Other reports from consultants around the Oberlin, Elton, Mamou and Ville Platte areas have suggested higher than normal blackbird activity.
