The Louisiana Soybean and Grain Research and Promotion Board has as one of its goals to make life better for Louisiana grain farmers.  And one way they do that is through the research projects funded through the LSU AgCenter.

Dr. Rogers Leonard—Associate Vice-President at the AgCenter—points out the support for LSU from the research and promotion   board has been going on now for years.

“The farmers on the board have worked continuously for decades to support research projects across Louisiana,” says Leonard.  “This is not something that has happened recently but has, in fact, been a long term partnership.”

“There is no doubt without the support of this industry to research it’s likely that a lot of the successes that they’ve experienced with regard to improvement in production practices in attaining the high yields we’ve seen over the last four to five years would just not have been possible.”

“The funding is essential to continuing to drive these yields forward,” Leonard pointed out.
